FS2002 Meigs Navaid Pack 2002 v. 1.3.
Full package including ILS for RWY 18/36, markers, VOR and NDB for the ultra classic Meigs Field in Chicago. This new version includes revised ILS, VOR and NDB plus new markers. Due to the location of the airport on the lake shoreline, RWY 18 approach has only a middle marker MM since an outer marker OM placed in water is absolutely unrealistic.The MM for rwy 18 approach is placed on the piers north of the field and it is at non standard distance 1.9 NM for the reasons previously explained. Markers for rwy 36 approach are placed at standard distances: OM at 4.5 NM and MM at 1 NM. During the first portion of the approach for both landing directions DO NOT look at the VASIS indication since it is rated for a 3° approach slope. This ILS pack is build with a 3.5° slope in order to have better visibility from the cockpit. In the final part of the approach the VASIS indication becomes suitable with the ILS slope so when you call MINIMUM and you move your eyes from inside to outside the cockpit, you find correct visual indication for landing.
