FS2004 Splash Screen, Fokker DR-1. The Fokker Dr 1 'DR' standing for Dreidecker or 3 wings was one of the most famous planes of World War I. This is probably because it was associated with the Red Baron.

FS2004 Splash Screen, Junkers 52. Nicknamed "Tante Ju" Auntie Ju and "Iron Annie" by Axis and Allied troops, the Junkers Ju-52 was the most famous German transport of the war. The Ju-52 was built of corrugated metal skin and paid little attention to beauty, features of a typical Junkers design. Parts and pieces stuck out of the airframe, and the corrugated skin, though much stronger than fabric and metal tubes, created stronger air resistance.

FS2004 Splash Screen, SE-5. The SE-5, along with the Sopwith Camel, were the two most successful fighting aircraft of WW I. The SE-5 eventually had a 150 HP Hispano Suiza powerplant.

FS2004 Splash Screen, Douglas Skyraider. The Skyraider's service spans from the last months of WW II to Viet Nam where it was primarily used in a ground support role. Its nickname was the "Spad". Ground troops were glad to see this aircraft coming over the trees.
