CFS2 Messerschmitt Me-209 V4, Luftwaffe. On April 26, 1936, the world was informed that a specialy modified version of the Luftwaffe's single-seat fighter had raised the world air speed record to 755,11 km/h, 469,22 mph. Later, Messerschmitt tried to make a fighter out of the Me-209. One experimental plane was built, the Me-209 V4. The flight tests showed that this plane was too difficult to fly for an average-trained pilot.

FS2000/FS2002/FS2004/CFS2 Spitful, Upgrade. The Supermarine Spiteful was a direct development of the Spitfire using a new laminar flow wing. Spiteful RB518, was modified to Mark 16 configuration and fitted with a Griffon 101 engine . During a test in 1947 this aircraft attained 494 m.p.h. at 27,500ft. This update makes the plane go up to 430 knots as the real RB518 did. Instrument panel, lights and effects placement are corrected. A vintage autopilot is included for FS9 and the mdl file is cleaned up and sleeker now.

FS2000/FS2002/FS2004/CFS2 Supermarine Spitful. The Supermarine Spiteful is a direct development of the Spitfire using a new laminar flow wing which was hoped to offer better high speed performance. The new wing did not measure up as compared to a standard wing, as there was only a marginal performance increase and the low speed handling characteristics were inferior. RB515 was the first pre-production Type 371 Spiteful Mk.XIV powered by a Griffon 65 2050 HP engine. The aircraft was one of 8 production airframes built and flown prior to the end of WWII, most of the 17 built being broken up after the 150 originally ordered were cancelled. The second prototype, NN664, was completed in late 1944. It incorporated a deeper fuselage, larger cockpit and slotted ailerons. It was quickly followed by a third prototype, NN667, which incorporated an extended carburetor intake.

FS2000/FS2002/FS2004/CFS2 Seafire F./F.R. XVII, F.R.17. Development work with the third prototype Seafire XV, NS493, led to a new aircraft, designated Mk. XVII, Type 384. The main changes were the adoption of the rear-view fuselage and modified hood, a strengthened undercarriage with a longer stroke for the oleo legs, a sting-type hook as standard on all models and fittings without exception for RATOG apparatus. Thus the XVII was merely an improved XV. The Mk. XVII appeared in 1945, too late for active war service, reaching squadron service in September that year with No. 883 Squadron. It followed the Mk. XV on production, but due to cancelled orders in 1945, production was limited to 212 by Westland and 20 by Cunliffe-Owen. All were produced as purely naval fighters, but in March 1947 a few were modified to accommodate one vertical and one oblique F.24 camera, and these aircraft were designated F.R. XVII. Not until November 1954, after serving for many years with the Naval Reserve Squadrons, was the XVII finally withdrawn from service.

CFS2 Bristol Bombay. The Bombay was built to the Air Ministry Specification C.26/31 for a monoplane aircraft which could carry bombs or 24 troops. Despite the all-metal construction, the Bombay retained some features which were outdated at the time, such as its fixed undercarriage. Outclassed for the European theatre, it saw service in the Middle East, replacing the Vickers Valentia.
