FS2002 United Airlines Boeing 247D. The Boeing 247 was introduced in 1933 as the first all metal twin engine airliner. The first 60 Boeing 247s were originally for United Airlines. It was originally presented with a raked windscreen, but later models were modified with a more modern windscreen and more powerful engines. The exclusive use with United Airlines forced the other major airlines to find aircraft to compete with the B-247 which prompted TWA to contact Douglas for a comparable plane. The result was the DC1, and later the DC 2....and probably the most famous airliner of all....the DC 3.
