Small tailless research aircraft, based on the fuselage of the Vampire. The first prototype flew on May 15, 1946. Flying characteristics were unpleasant, if not dangerous. All three aircraft built crashed, killing their pilots. One was the British first aircraft to exceed the speed of sound, in a dive, flown by John Derry.
