Codes
There are two kinds of
airport codes: IATA (three character) and ICAO (four
character). Three-character codes are used mostly on
timetables, baggage tags, domestic flight plans and some
ATC scopes, while four-charactercodes are used for
international flight plans and other professional
aviation publications. Usually the first two letters
identify the country, except for the Continental USA,
where codes usually start with a K, and the 3-letter code.
The FSDome.com list is
sorted by IATA codes.
